So at 6am Sharon and I took a leisurely drive to the Giant's Castle area where we met John. He'd stocked the 3 dams with 3" (or 5”) fish the previous morning and it was now time to put in a few 10" fish to kick start the process of rehabilitating these Mondi waters. The whole process was surprisingly fast and started by looking for a place to safely release the new fish. The obvious choice was along the dam wall into deeper, safer water. There was however a small problem in that we could see the previous day's smaller fish shoaling along…
[caption id="attachment_309" align="alignleft" width="300"] The Bahamobile[/caption] The weekend was meant to get off to a relaxed start after the chaotic Easter period and fridge of doom. That plan was however abandoned when Nick and Tazz lost power and phoned asking if they could borrow our kitchen. In retrospect this all seems to have been a guise to drink beer as they arrived with McDonalds and Baha decals for Nick's Golf. So after they'd finished their burgers Nick and I headed to the basement where we spent the next half an hour branding Nick's car with Baha Fly Fishing. I won't lie...it looks HOT! This was followed by a few more celebratory beers before they headed home and left us to finish our relaxing. Hopefully next weekend’s report will be about…
[caption id="attachment_221" align="aligncenter" width="900"] Thanks For Signing My Copy Nick, Even Though I Wrote The Article[/caption] Just 2 years after I got this site off the ground and good things are starting to happen. This is in a large part thanks to Baha Boys founding member Nick Nortje who chatted to the owner of Angler's Talk Magazine, Marlon Sukhnunan. (Angler's Talk is a free fishing, boating & outdoor supplement published once a month in the East Coast) As part of this discussion Nick pointed out the Baha Boys' website which Marlon apparently took a liking too. They chatted about writing an article for the publication and Nick pointed Marlan in my direction for further information and photos from the site. After this however I heard nothing from Angler's Talk and…
[caption id="attachment_168" align="alignleft" width="300"] The Tank Chair[/caption]So after months of careful consideration, and being pissed off since I'm stuck in a cast, I'm come up with the perfect Christmas present for me this year. So its time for all of you to pool your money together and get me one of these bad boys... I give you, the TANK CHAIR! With one of these chairs I could be out fishing right now. And better yet, I'd be doing it in comfort and style. Of course I'd need to make a few modifications. For example I'd be adding a cooler box to carry the beers, and I'd have to replace a few of the parts with stainless so I could fish salt water as well as fresh water, but otherwise this…
[caption id="attachment_148" align="alignleft" width="212"] Yes, It's My Hand[/caption]Well, its been a while since the last blog entry on this site, and this one has a little less to do with fishing, and a little more to do with my new-found celebrity status. "What?" I hear you asking. Well take a closer look at the magazine cover on the left. Yes, look closer. Recognise that watch? What about the hand? Yes, you've got it, that's me! Maybe next time the photographer will do a better shot and get my face in too. Tee hee!! On a more serious note, congratulations to Shaun Futter for his first magazine cover. We had a great day's fishing and this has made it even more memorable. Maybe next time I'll get a cover shot. *fingers…
